Who We Are
CPG Capital principals Candy Munster, Chase Munster, Preston Munster, and Grant Robinson founded CPG Development in 2017 and have designed, built, and operated over 2,000 multifamily units. As its development pipeline neared an end, CPG decided to scale its experience built as sponsor by underwriting and investing in projects similar to the ones it built its name on. CPG Capital was born.
Through CPG’s extensive firsthand experience in designing, financing, constructing, and operating multifamily properties, including expertise in various HUD loan programs, CPG Capital aims to provide lower-risk, higher-reward opportunities to relatively patient investors seeking exposure to multifamily development projects.
CPG Capital leverages its experience to select qualified development sponsors and provide practical and strategic oversight throughout the development process to both maximize returns for investors and provide “smart capital” for sponsors.
Meet the Team
Preston Munster is a principal of CPG Capital and effectively serves as the firm’s CFO. Preston oversees all financial modeling, tax/audit relationships, and fund administration. Preston has spent the last decade developing all financial models, managing capital relationships, and working hand-in-hand with MAP lenders for HUD financing on CPG Development projects. Prior to CPG, Preston practiced commercial real estate law at Jackson Walker. Preston has a wife, Jamee, and two sons, Walker and Miller. He’s an avid fisherman and responsible casino enthusiast.
Grant Robinson is a principal of CPG Capital and has extensive experience throughout the pre-development and construction process of multifamily development, including land diligence, zoning, permitting, municipal relations, project design and budgeting, general contractor selection, and construction oversight. Prior to CPG, Grant practiced commercial real estate law at Jackson Walker. Grant spends his free time seeking the path to golf enlightenment, loves fishing, and enjoys traveling with his wife, Claire, and son, Shepard.
Chase Munster is a principal of CPG Capital and has over 15 years of expertise in project management. Chase leverages the skills he’s accumulated throughout his career to effectively and efficiently manage construction delivery, curate management teams, oversee leasing budgeting, strategy, and execution, and maximize value at disposition. Prior to CPG, Chase was a project manager at a Fortune 500 Company managing hundreds of projects and personnel. When not managing CPG properties, Chase and his wife, Kris, are managing their ranch, hunting, fishing, and flying.
Candy Munster is a principal of CPG Capital and her experience in multifamily goes back to the 1980s when her parents developed and operated a HUD Section 8 apartment complex in New Mexico. Since then, Candy has been involved in all areas of design, construction, and operation of single and multifamily housing. It is often the intangibles that separate a good project from a great one, and Candy works tirelessly to identify, select, and implement those special qualities for each CPG development. Candy enjoys skiing, traveling, and spending as much time as she can with her grandchildren and grandanimals.
